St.Vincent's University Hospital is a major academic teaching hospital with approximately 479 in-patient beds.It is part of the St.Vincent's Healthcare Group which includes St.Vincent's Private Hospital and St.Michael's Hospital.                  

It provides a frontline emergency service and national/regional medical care at inpatient and outpatient level with excess of 40 medical specialities including the National Liver Transplant Programme. The laboratory services include Clinical Biochemistry, Endocrinology, Nuclear Medicine and Metabolism. The Pathology Depatment moved to a new facility in May 2006 which also incorporates new and expanded Emergency, OPD, Diagnostic Imaging, Intensive Care and Theatre services.
